Children and Teen Programs

The Children and Teen Programs work with children and teens who are victims and/or witnesses of abuse.

The Children's Advocate provides a safe environment in which children can deal with their fears and feelings. Programs for children include individual sessions, safety planning, unstructured playgroups and structured support groups. The advocate also supports the parents with positive parenting skills and assistance in re-establishing their role as parents.

The agency's Teen Advocate works primarily with teen witnesses or victims of domestic abuse or those in abusive dating relationships. The advocate provides support groups as well as 1:1 meetings with teens to discuss options, safety and to decrease feelings of isolation.

The overall goal of the program is to enhance the safety and quality of life for children and teens that have witnessed or experienced domestic violence.
