In total, 856 runners and walkers joined in this year's event. That easily surpasses 2008's record -- nearly 500 runners and walkers. A tremendous thanks to the event's sponsors, to its hosting site -- the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh -- to our more than 130 volunteers and to the host of wellness teams and participants who made it such a dazzling success.
A congratulations to our top finishers and all who made this 5K run/walk their first! Here are our 2009 Race For The Light Wellness Team and Individual award winners:
Race for the Light is Christine Ann's second largest fundraising event, providing a fun and healthy way to raise awareness and funds for a tremendous cause: To help end domestic violence in our communities. It is also a great way to kick-off the holiday season. The race course features the breathtaking Celebration of Lights in Oshkosh's Menominee Park.
ThedaCare Inc. was back as the presenting sponsor for this year's race. The event was also sponsored by Associated Bank and First National Bank-Fox Valley. A special thanks goes out to Digiprint for graciously donating printing.
